Georgina Verza E-RYT® 200, RYT®, LMT
 

I was born in La Plata, the capital of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a kid, I lived right at the edge of town, an area still not very developed with a lot of freedom to play in empty lots, climb trees and make fire. Most of the siblings of my Italian grandparents and their families lived in the next block. My maternal grandmother lived also in the neighborhood. A lot of family around.

When I was 15 I started acting school, I completed 6 years of studies, which opened the door for movement, yoga, and massage.

In parallel I got a B.Sc in Biology (Zoology). I worked for a couple of years in research in Biochemistry/Biophysics (protein-cellular membrane interaction) working towards a PhD. Massage was my part-time job. 

In 2000 me and my husband moved to New York City for work and a year after we moved to Spain, where  I completed a Master in Biotechnology in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. I worked for some time in GMO detection. 

In 2005 we moved to Seattle, the city welcomed us when we came for an interview with a beautiful clear sky in February. Rainier was hypnotic. We relocated in May and didn't see the sun for 3 more months but we loved this town. By then I was certain that despite my love for lab work and science i wanted to work for myself and follow my passion for holistic movement and therapies. I got certified in massage at Brian Utting School of Massage (graduated in 2006) and the next year I started my first 200 hr yoga teacher training with 8 limbs yoga centers. I completed another 200 hr with Ana Forrest in 2010 and in 2017 I reached the 500 hr level also with 8 limbs.

I am so grateful for teachers like Melina Meza, Anne Phyfe Palmer, Chiara Guerrieri, Jenny Hayo, Ana Forrest and Troy Lucero; and for all the teachers I had taken workshops from: Tias Little, Rod Stryker, Gary Kraftsow, Richard Freeman. 

In 2017 I got an Orthopedic Movement Specialist Certification with Gordon and Julie Browne.
